One True Knight The Knights of Honor Trilogy Book 1 edition by Dana D'Angelo Romance eBooks
The time period Dana D'Angelo wrote is one of my favorite. The knight, Jonathan d'Abelard, the Iron Hawk, has travel for 10 years, building up his feared name. As he built up his legend, he was also searching for the elusive Grey Knight. In his travels, Rowena de Belleville runs into him, shares one kiss and she is off again. Running away as her father is forcing her to choose a husband, she wants only love. The way Ms D'Angelo weaves their story is quite breathtaking. As Rowena is returned home, due to her father's upcoming marriage, she once again is thrown into Jonathan's life. The path that Rowena and Jonathan take to find true love is filled with misunderstandings and danger. Yet the story is told in such a way you will not be able to put the book down until the HEA. One True Knight was the first book I have read by Dana, and I have already started the next. If you enjoy jousting, knights, and maidens, this book is for you.

One True Knight The Knights of Honor Trilogy Book 1 edition by Dana D'Angelo Romance eBooks Reviews
The storyline was great, however the Lady a little to much of childish acting out...that is why I gave it 4 stars. The Jonathan character is a noble knight... Didnt really understand his relationship with his father though. And...didnt want to stop reading the love story once I started reading it
I love historical romances and this one didn't disappoint. It was a wonderful story told in a way that kept the me engaged and wanting to find out what was next.
Rowena was impulsive, which got her into trouble more than once, Jonathan was single-minded in his quest to find the Gray Knight, but their interactions sizzled. Some elements were predictable while others were surprising. I like a good combination of both, and this story had that. My only wish is that there were more to it.
I really enjoyed One True Knight! I loved the story and the characters. The writing style helped me keep interested from beginning to the end.
Ms D'Angelo is very talented author!
This was a can't put down for me. Had to know what happens next. Simple plot line, very engaging characters, and easy to become involved in the story. I enjoy reading a story and was glad to see she didn't spend pages upon pages discussing how they went about whitewashing the walls or some such b.s.
This FEELS like a first book - almost like the author made a list of things that should be in a romance, then inserted each one and ticked it off. The evil bastard and his henchmen, the apparently unfeeling but secretly loving father, the heroine who runs in error, the tortured and wronged yet honorable knight; but it's packed so full of the events and situations that the narrative is forced to incorporate them uncomfortably. Maybe the next book will flow more smoothly.
I'm at an impasse.....I enjoyed the story....but I hated the writing. Ms. D'Angelo has a wonderful vivid imagination, but her writing bounces around and is delivered in choppy sentences, phrases, small excerpts to the point of distraction. There doesn't seem to be a smooth transition from one thought to another. It leaves you, I don't know, confused (for a lack of a better word). I read a lot of books...3-4 a week....and when the book runs along smoothly in its delivery, sometimes more. I just found the book clumsy....however, I enjoyed the story immensely....hence my quandary. So I gave a three star rating and wish I could give more, but I cannot. Ms. D'Angelo did have moments of brilliance in her writing where everything proceeded along smoothly and that was quite enjoyable.....and with that said, I would recommend her books. Happy reading. Cheers! 🍻
I have two books from Ms. Dana D’Angelo one is unread but I did finish reading this one and actually liked it. Even though Ms. D’Angelo is a new author for me and I guess new to historical romance she does write fairly well and is able to tell a pretty good story.
The beautiful spitfire stubborn unwilling to wed heroine Rowena is being forced to wed by her father. Rowena father is going to remarry and wants his daughter to be protected and safe so decides that a tournament will be held in her honor and whoever wins will claim her as his bride. Rowena decides that she is not ready to face such a fate and tries to run away but in doing so comes upon the mysterious good-looking cousin of her father’s bride and hero Jonathan d’Abelard. There is a lot of action and I can easily see the tournament playing out in my head with another guy also in love with Rowena and a villain there is a lot to this story to make it interesting. The story also moves pretty quickly even though there is a tournament and the one main goal of the tournament is to marry the heroine afterwards.
I did like the characters and how they were described. Rowena at times did act like a spoiled selfish teenager but then again that maybe had to do with the fact that she was young. Plus, the fact that she is rebelling against getting married or agreeing to marry anyone when it was decided earlier that she could find love first was kind of a neat twist to the story as well. I really had a hard time imagining though what Jonathan looked like so he wasn’t handsome but his manner made him imposing and good-looking. Why again didn’t Jonathan not suspect Ranulf sooner so this whole time he never questioned his behavior and let him get so close to his father without thinking that he acted odd especially when he wasn’t given anything except a bag of gold after his dad passed away? I just had a hard time believing that Jonathan did not at least have an idea that Ranulf played a part in things. Another thing I didn’t like about Jonathan was that he didn’t tell Rowena he loved her at the very beginning. So he has the nerve to sleep with her after she willingly gives herself to him but he drags his feet and won’t admit it until things happen then okay he finally admits yes I love her this really kind of bothered me. I guess I wanted him to admit that at the first as opposed to having all this strong physical attraction and lust for her talked about in his head and will act on it at times than that he actually had feelings for her. He just seemed so indecisive about his love for Rowena even though he tries to act like he doesn’t care for her in the least but in actuality does care for her left me feeling a bit dizzy and wanting to yell at him just admit you like her for goodness sakes what is so hard about that? I did like her minor characters too Derrik, Garreth and will read the rest of the knights of honor trilogy just to see what happens with them. Despite all this I still however enjoyed the story, rated it four stars and can recomment it.
