I am getting a bit frustrated with this series. I am new to this form of reading. Never thought I would pay basically 3 bucks an hour for a mediocre story. I thought it to be original in concept as far as Vampire stories go. Now, I am not sure I care enough to be interrupted yet again to put more dollars in the machine. I guess it's a marketing strategy. The author also gets to advertise how many books sold. If a story is cut up every 100-150 pages, that number is a joke. I bought most of this series several years ago and read it. I was hospitalized for major surgery at the time, so I decided to read again unmedicated. I guess I am not a fan of Novellas to become a series. I think they are fine as an addition to a full length Novel albeit stand alone or series.Product details

Excellent read by VM Black! Cora has a big choice to make continue being a full time student and go on to grad school or stay with Dorian. I'm all in with Dorian but Cora has a lot of questions that Dorian is not answering. Again the author does a great job with the characters emotional state. Thank God the next book is available to read right away I'm hooked!!!
The writing is really good but the story line and character development stops short of expectations. Because of the quality of writing in general I expected richer characters - the lead male is one dimensional and the female lead is gratingly whiny throughout. I would have rather these books been condensed because it's very annoying to have such a long series in so many novellas especially when they are $3 each.
I have so many complaints about this series, more specifically this book.
1. Each novella costs $3. Why not combine some of them and make it a whole book so people aren't paying so much money?
2. It's basically Fifty Shades of Grey, only slightly nicer.
3. It's basically rape. He makes her want him. She has no choice in the matter. And even though she tells him her issue with this time and time again, he still has sex with her because 'she wants it' which, as we just discussed, is only because she has no choice. How is that sexy?
4. The first book sucked. The second and third had an interesting story going if you ignore the sex. I think the world is interesting and the story could really go somewhere so I have kept reading. I only got halfway through this one though and I had to return all of the books I read from the series. I can't read about rape. It's not sexy or steamy, it's just really, really wrong. If you're a Fifty Shades of Grey kind of person, have at it. Not my thing at all.
Never a dull moment. Again...wow. This book has so much in it. Where do I start. Cora is introduced to the vampire community at introduction ceremony. Dorian try's his best to not compel her but is left, in his eyes, no other choice just to make sure she stays. It's the only way she will be safe from others. And I think more as show and tell. The passion in this book is off the charts. The things she sees and feels at this party.... Most excellent book
In this book Cora is introduced to the vampire community at introduction ceremony. Dorian try's his best to not compel her but is left, in his eyes, no other choice just to make sure she stays. It's the only way she will be safe from others. She meets several people, and some do things to purposefully scare her, which later we find out was exactly what they had hoped would happen. Of course there are hot sex scenes with Dorian and Cora, The end is intense, and i really hope Cora will decide what is best for her...but still i am on Dorian team.
what are your expectations for life...love...happiness...contentment? are they obtainable? if everything you wanted...or thought you wanted...was handed to you on a silver platter could you/would you be able to accept it?

Victoria will have you at the end of your rope as you go through this series! if you were watching this story as a movie...you would never leave the edge of your seat...and your fingernails would cease to exist! Even at book 4 the story is still as compelling as it was at the beginning and will lead you up to book 5! a promise from me to you...you will not regret reading this series! it is that good!
My review for each of these books will be the same as the reason I have only given it a two star rating is the same all the way through and needs to be explained.
There was a lot to like in this series until the reality of it all hit. The books are short and whilst at first the idea of a continuing series is a novelty and quite easy to accept and even quite likable it begins to pall quite swiftly. By the time I had reached what appeared the end of this series I had long stopped enjoying spending my money. It is well written but if you add up what you pay then there are much, much better books out there about vampires. I felt taken for a ride especially when I discovered there was more about Cora yet to come. Seriously at the price you can buy ten books that have a longer and better developed plot with just as much sex and tension.
This review is purely about the price and fairness so the reader is prepared. If I wanted to spend that amount of money I would like to have had the choice and not feel forced into buying more, or if I want to know more then give me value for money. Don't give me a portion for the price of a whole.
